What Makes a Perfect Family Vacation?

We have had a lot of family vacations over the years to exotic locations and small town locations.  The thing I have realized is that what makes a family vacation is FAMILY.  No matter where we end up going family makes it all worthwhile.  Our Canadian trip was no exception.  Trav's cousin Lisa squeezed us in for some quick haircuts in her new salon in her new house (so cute by the way).  The boys got all cleaned up so they were ready for July 1st.

We got "Poutine" right away when we got to Canada and some ice cream from the Burger Baron in Raymond.  For the naive, Poutine is a heart attack in a cup but it is so good!  It is fries with cheese and gravy.  We had to limit ourselves to getting it 3 times during our trip instead of every day like the kids wanted.

The hoop they used to have at Grandma and Grandpa's died so since our priorities were straight we went to Costco on our first day there and got a new hoop.  All the kids helped put it together.  It was a family project.   It was also worth it's weight in gold until the mosquito's started biting and we had to run inside to save our skin.

Grandma and Grandpa have this great swing outside.  Lexie and Callen loved to sit there and swing while the kids played basketball.

Aunt Joan lives right across the highway and she had a bunch of baby kitties that the kids loved to play with.  Plus  a whole bunch of cousins, quads and toys were there too.

You add a little Monopoly to any family vacation and it is a sure hit
We even got to spend some time with Kwade.  We can't believe how tall he is getting!
