GIRLS CAMP

12 years since I have been a mother. After a lifetime of wanting to rush through life and be a mother I now want to freeze frame little moments and keep her small. I know that may be a redundant theme in this blog but it is a reoccurring theme in my thought process. I nearly shed a tear when I dropped Tay off for her first mutual so to send her to girls camp was a bittersweet experience. I was so proud of her and the fabulous girl she has become, worried about how she would do at night time. Would she be scared, nervous, have nightmares? Hopeful that her first girls camp would be as good as mine and secretly a little relieved to not have any girl drama for 5 days. All those feelings came crashing down on me at once as I squeezed her tight told her to have fun and make us proud. Not that she needs reminding to do either she is still at the age where she likes us and we love her. She will have fun no matter where she is and make new friends along the way. Another major bonus was that Natalie and my Mom were there the whole week and my Dad was there a couple of nights. I knew they would take really good care of her not to mention her amazing leaders. At the end of the week she came home with some great journal entries, some classic pictures (see below), a lot of dirt and some very fun stories and memories to share. After all my worry and angst it turned out that she had
the time of her life, slept like a baby and had (in her opinion) a better time at
her first time at camp than I had at mine.

Why is it that girls are so good at striking a pose?

Taylor is queen of goofy faces

They had to dress up the munchkins.
They went to Oz and back and had a blast!
