4TH OF JULY

This year we missed out on going to Canada for the 1st of July (again!). I have a few favorite holidays and July 1st in Canada is one of them. July 1st in Canada is a blast. Full of family, friend, entertainment and great food. Since the town of Raymond has raised the bar on celebrations we have had to step up our game and make July 4th spectacular. I had to make up to the kids our lack of July 1st by making July 4th amazing. This year I had a whole day planned, pancake breakfast at the church, Home Depot to build a picnic basket (for free!), a carnival and then swimming and BBQ at my parents. Apparently my kids thought I was trying to make the day "too spectacular". They only wanted to do the pancake breakfast and the BBQ/Swimming. At the end of the day it made my day a heck of a lot easier and taught me a lesson, less is more. This was a less is more holiday and it ended up being much

much more. After all, all it takes is family, food and fun to make the day "amazing".
