There are a lot of things I miss about Murrieta where we used to live but I think the one thing I love the most besides the beach and the weather is having family nearby. I don't know if there is anything better. My parents are 10 minutes away and Matt and Laurie are just down the street. The kids run back and forth and my siblings stop by a lot. It has been so great to see much more of family and have that safety net when you need help. Today was a particularly fun day. It was Mitt's birthday last week and since my dad and Mitt have a history of giving each other gag gifts it was fun to actually be with him as he opened the gifts. I think the best is the red suit he got a couple of years ago. The best "almost gift" was when they were going to buy him nose hair trimmers as a gag until my grandpa Pops saw them clipped to a bulletin board and expressed an exited interest in them saying they were just what he had been looking for. This year not to be outdone my dad found a pair of sunglasses with windshield wipers for Mitt's runs on the misty beach and a pair of "Super" binoculars. Hey, maybe he too can see Russia from his backyard now just like Sarah Palin. :)
