Every year a family friend in our community opens up his house for over a month for anyone to come and see Santa and his workshop. He opens up his amazing and beautiful house which is decked out in everything Christmas and lets the visitors walk through. He also has Santa and Mrs. Claus there each night so each of the kids gets a turn to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what they want for Christmas. Each child also gets a toy and some candy. Not to mention that everyone that comes gets cookies and hot chocolate. It is quite the event. Each room is decorated with a different Christmas theme. One room is Christmas in the jungle, one is Barbie Christmas, retro Christmas and much, much more. The kids look forward to it every year and every year I wonder how this family keeps it up. Every night from 5-9 they open up their home. The parking is crazy and they have people directing traffic. There are lights, food, toys and people galore. This year is was very cold and we were all bundled up but it was a blast! Lexie asked Santa for princess barbies, Callen asked for - well, he can't talk but I hope he asks for a little ride on car - the Fred Flintstone kind. Kaden, Tanner and Taylor all asked for a Wii and Travis and I just wanted a happy and peaceful Christmas and can only hope that we get some sleep on Christmas Eve.
