READING OLYMPICS

This year the 4th grade did the reading Olympics.  Kaden is my child that I have to drag all information out of like it is buried treasure.  After the Olympics had been going on for quite a while he told me about it and told me how he wanted a gold medal.  The competitive reader in me kicked in and with all of the mother's zeal I could muster I tried to help him win that goal.  At the end of the day he earned a Silver Medal which we were thrilled about. He just barely missed a Gold Medal - he was pretty bummed but we were so proud of him.  He really got into reading and again the addicted reader in me loved that.  I am still waiting for one of my kids to be as crazy about reading as I am so anytime they show a love of reading I get pretty pumped.  We got to go to a special awards ceremony to see all of the kids get their awards.  Tanner was there for the ceremony and it was great for him to see Kaden get his award.

It was jersey day at school - one of Kaden's favorite days
