I really can't believe that I have a 6th grader! How did that happen? I swear she was just 2. I have been very nervous about middles school for a lot of reasons but we really lucked out this year. She has 2 LDS teachers, one is one of her best friends Aunt and the other has known my parents for years so we are so lucky! They are both such great teachers. Plus there are 12 LDS kids in her class. Some are boys so she doesn't think that is very lucky but she is happy about the girls! the first day was a little scary. I walked her to her class and as I walked onto campus I was intimidated. The kids all look so big! They seemed to all either e talking on their phones or listening to their ipods. A HUGE change from elementary school! Luckily she quickly saw some friends and that made me feel a lot better. I felt a little bit like I was dropping her off at kindergarten all over again. I have to admit I got a little teary as I said goodbye to her. So far so good in the land of Middle School. She does come home with some interesting words that I wish she didn't have to learn - some I haven't even heard of! She walks to and from school every day which makes it much easier for me. Overall it has been a good but scary transition (more scary for me than her!). I know that if I blink before I know it I will e dropping her off at college. Time flies way too fast!

I seriously cannot believe how old your kids are. It seems like it wasn't that long ago when Tanner was on your lap in Relief Society with his blankie and sippy cup. Crazy! But bonus that Taylor is old enough to babysit eh?
Rachel, I totally understand your angst about Taylor in middle school. When I sent Marni off to middle school (7th grade) I felt like I was feeding a minnow to the sharks. But she obviously did fine.
Oh, and no kidding, once they hit middle school, if will seem they are in fast forward mode. You won't believe how soon you will be sitting at her HS graduation, wondering how in the heck that happened so fast.
I can't believe she is that old already. Didn't you just get married?
I also noticed how your kids seem to tower over their friends. Must be the Tollestrup genes. (With a few Baker and Davies ones mixed in.)
