Alexis was in all day kindergarten this year which I did NOT like. It was a little bit too much for her on most days. Luckily they had half days on Wednesday and I would take her out early each Monday for this great class called Skittles. Every 6 weeks or show there was a different subject. This one happened to be American Girls. Each week the girls would learn about a different American Girl and the time period surrounding that girls life. It was so much fun and such a great way to learn history. The girls would play with their dolls, read a story, do a craft and eat a snack from that time period. This one was Kirsten. She was an American Pioneer. The girls made aprons and we had a tea party with special muffins and "tea". Alexis had so much fun and now she LOVES American Girl dolls.

The aprons were so easy. We just took dish cloths and folded the top over. We then sewed a straight line across the top and thread through a black ribbon for the tie. I am not much of a sewer to the absolute shame of my Mother who is quite a seamstress but Alexis and I somehow muddled through with this project. I think my Mom was quite proud!

The finished project was one darling apron and one happy 5 year old
