We had a very full day before Easter. Since the Easter Bunny came to our house and brought A LOT of candy I felt like we needed to go on a hike to burn off some of the Reece's Peanut Butter Cups. Kaden needed to get some hike practice in and Evan and Ashely were in town and wanted to do the hike before they went home. It took the kids a while to pick up all their candy and eggs so by the time they did it was almost dark. I knew it would take us an hour and a half so I thought we had just enough time to get there and back before it got too dark to see. Unlike a boy scout we were not prepared with a flashlight or a cell phone and the gate at the bottom of the trail was locked. That took us about 15 minutes longer than we anticipated so the last part of our hike was pretty dark. Luckily there was a good moon out, we had a big group and there was a baseball game in the valley below which lit up the night sky. As we trekked our way to the top I think the kids were surprised by how much of a hike it was. They all did a great job and we made it there and back in record time. These kids never cease to amaze me!
Natalie has always wanted to see the princess towers at the top of the mountain. She was so
excited to get to the top and she had to take a picture to document the amazing feat.
