I heard a couple of years ago that there was a great butterfly field trip in San Diego. I had been wanting to check it out for a while and luckily I was able to get a group together to defray the costs. We were expecting a pretty amazing experience. I wish I could say that the experience lived up to our expectations but it didn't. It was still fun to be with friends and family and worth the trip but I think next year we will try the butterfly exhibit at the Wild Animal Park. 
The best part of the trip was holding the butterflies
We go to see the life cycle of the butterflies and the kids even found some caterpillars before they turned into butterflies.
Alexis was in heaven
I think Tanner liked the caterpillars better than the butterflies
We even got to see some butterflies coming out of their chryssalis
Callen was a little scared of the butterflies. He didn't want to hold them or touch them
Callen has a special friend named Haley. She finally got him to touch a butterfly
