Petco, Where The Pets Go....Or Where They Shouldn't Go

We had been going to the "Dapper Doggery" to get Molly groomed.  Yes, it really is called that.  Then we decided that it was time for a change and we wanted to check out Petco.  While they forgot to clip her tail it seemed like they had done a pretty good job.  Then a few weeks later she started limping and squeaking whenever we touched her.  Then we noticed that she was bleeding.  We tried to look closer but she wouldn't let us near her front paw.  I finally took her to the vet to see what the problem was. After her exam the Vet told me that her nails hadn't been clipped in months and because they were so long she had caught her nail on something and ripped it and now it was infected.  Fabulous considering a few weeks before I had PAID to have her nails clipped.  When I told the vet that he showed me that her nails had NOT been clipped after all.  After putting Molly under anesthesia, minor surgery, a cast, doggie pain meds given 3 times a day orally, doggie antibiotics again given orally, the cone of shame, a plastic bag wrapped around her cast every time she went outside and a $300 Vet bill later Molly is as good as new.  My lesson learned, don't judge a book by it's Title and we will be heading back to the Dapper Doggery to be it's most loyal customers ever.

The kids were pretty excited to sign Molly's cast.  That means 3 of my kids have had
casts in the last year.  Yes, I am now claiming Molly as my own because she is FINALLY potty-trained.

She was a trooper and didn't even complain at all.
I guess it helps that she can't talk.

Isn't that the saddest thing ever?? We hated having Duke in a cast and cone-he kept running into the sliding glass door and undershooting the steps cuz he couldn't see! So funny-but so sad!

What a cute dog. I am so sorry. Hope she feels better soon. For some reason it is all more painful to pay a vet bill than a dr. bill.
