Picture Day

Lexie is now an official kindergartner which means back to school night, volunteering in the classroom and school pictures.  She was so excited to get her hair in curlers just like Taylor does.  We sat in front of a movie and curled up every piece of her hair.  It was TONS easier than Taylor's because Taylor has a horses mane for hair and Lexie has a little bit less do do.  I was worried about how she would sleep with the curlers but she did great.  The only problem is the next day when she woke up and we took the curlers out...YIKES!  She made Shirley Temple look like she flat irons her hair.  After seeing this vision of herself Alexis became quite upset and worried about her school pictures.  After I frantically wet down some of the corkscrews it tamed down a bit but then I realized I put TOO much water on and parts were curly and parts were flat.  All of this was happening when we had 5 minutes of less to go before she had to leave for school.  Then I quickly got out the little tiny curling iron and curled some ringlets.  Problem solved and lesson learned - next year I will curl it the morning of and save
 A LOT of time.

It turned out beautiful. Less finer hair does really go crazy with those sponge rollers. I can just imagine the frenzy in the morning though.

Oh, do I remember the curling the hair days for 4 (count 'em) 4 little girls. For Aubree and Meghan's early Irish dance days, I would braid their hair all over in little braids and then curl the ends. That was fun to take out and comb! It would have been more expensive but less trouble if I had just bought some of those curly wigs! Good times!
