BLACK MOUNTAIN HIKE

The boys and I went on a hike for Kaden's Boy Scout Pack Meeting. It was a lot of fun and the view was amazing. I wondered if it would be too much for the boys, but they were always ahead of me and running for part of it. All the boys were troopers and it was a hike that we will definitely have to repeat. The boys favorite part was the snickers bar they got as a treat. It was a 2 1/2 mile hike and we were definitely huffing and puffing. Or I should say I was huffing and puffing. Did I mention that the boys were running on parts? I did NOT run at any point. Purely because I didn't want to sprain an ankle. It had nothing to do with the fact that I was out of breath. :) Kaden decided that we should do this hike as a family once a week. It really was a hike that I would want to do again but once a week might be pushing it.
They really didn't want to be stopped for pictures but I bribed them with snicker bars. It is amazing what chocolate can do.
This is the view of Taylor's school and our community. Her school is the big building on the bottom left. Our house is just left of that but it is hidden by the hills.
The boys got to throw rocks down the hill. They really liked that. I guess it is a boy thing...

The radio tower at the top. It was a great landmark because when we were at the bottom we could look at it way up on the hill and tell everyone that we hiked up to that.
The day was a little cloudy but I've been told that on a clear day you can see the ocean
