SWEET 12

Taylor my baby (she is still my baby even if she is almost as tall as me) had her 12th birthday party with and she did it with a bang. She invited a ton of girls and they ALL RSVP'd yes. I was secretly hoping that at least a few would be out of town.....am I awful to say that? All her friends were in town so I now know what it would be like to have sixteentuplets. Is that a word? I also realized that 12 year old girls scream quite loud but they are really easy. The whole night was a blast and the hardest part was getting them to go to sleep. We started out with a swim party. Taylor was watching our neighbors cat and watering their plants for the week while they were out of town and they were paying her on a daily basis. I called this fabulous neighbor and asked if we could use her pool for a couple of hours in lieu of paying Taylor. It all worked out and we got to use their amazing pool. Taylor thought it was a fabulous trade. The girls swam and played for a couple of hours, we had pizza, ate a delicious ice cream cake and opened presents. We did the party as a party/book club so we had a little book discussion and then watched The City of Ember. It was a perfect mix of fun and scary for the girls. The next morning we had Swedish pancakes and the girls watched another movie. It was a fun night and it made me very grateful for all the great friends that Taylor has. She is surrounded by a huge group of fun and good girls. They have something random called a "cheese club". Yes, it is random but it draws them all together and they love it so who am I to complain? It was a great party but I think when we celebrate her 13th birthday party next year I may cray because she is growing up way too fast.
Taylor is still at the point that she likes having her siblings with her at her party

I used Light Cool Whip and Reese's PB cups instead of Heath Bars.
It was fabulous and oh so easy.
A party is not a party until you make hats out of the present wrappings
