Today was Tanner's Mother's Day Tea. It was amazing how well organized Tanner's teacher had everything. The kids were so respectful and had a protocol on how to do each thing. My question is if she can get 20 7 year olds to behave that well, can I get five kids ages 1-12 to listen to my every directive.....I had that daydream for about 5 seconds and was quickly brought back to reality. As much as I would like them to listen to me all the time I guess 37% of the time is OK by me.
Tanner wrote me 2 very special poems and read them out loud and then presented me with a flower. I love that in one of the poems he put oatmeal. Doest that mean I eat it a lot?
Then Tanner showed me a whole book where he had made pictures, drawings and writings. It was a pretty fabulous gift. After a lot of hugs and praise the kids led us into the center meeting room and sang us some great songs. Tanner was beaming from the back row. He sang as loud as he could and I swear I could hear him above anyone else. :) He was adorable and quite the gentleman the whole morning.
I think the best gift on top of the poems, flowers and books was the look on Tanner's face when I walked into the classroom. There isn't enough money, fame or things in the world that equals to love of a child. My goal is that he will still look that excited to see me when he is a teenager...
Tanner was so great to share his special morning with Lexie since her Mother's Day Tea was right after.
