WHO SAYS CRIME IS UP IN CANCUN?

After a long night on a red-eye flight we arrived in Cancun pretty tired and starving.  We couldn't check into our resort until the next day so we found a nice hotel in Cancun (Marriott).  We were a little worried about going to Cancun in the first place so we wanted to find a place we felt safe in. This hotel was a little removed from the city of Cancun and seemed pretty safe.  We had a great lunch and spent some time in the pool goofing around and having a blast.  We did some shopping in Cancun and went back to the hotel early to catch up on some sleep.  We had a great night in our room, but in my parents room, their sleep was interrupted in the middle of the night by some pounding on the door and then someone tried to open the door.  My mom had put the bolt in - the one where you can open the door a crack but you can't get in.  They opened that and kept banging on the door until the broke the door jam and the door crashed open.  My parents and brothers were all wide awake and freaked out.  Jake yelled out and the people realized that the room was occupied and made a run for it.  Needless to say no one in that room slept well.  We don't know who tried to break in and why but luckily no one was hurt.  It just made us a lot more paranoid to be in Mexico.  After a lot of arguing with hotel management they were so gracious (NOT) and comped breakfast for a few of our party and gave a discount on our rooms.  Jake even brought the door jamb down to show them to prove the point.  Not the best service or safety but we had a blast at the pool and the food was great!

Trevor always makes every trip fun

Dad reading a great new book - in the shade of course.  He tells us we are all going to get skin cancer and we say that at least we aren't glow in the dark....

We had a 15 passenger van.  They call them Hudderite vans in Canada and I have to be honest, there were moment in the trip where some of us smelled like Hudderites.

Wiped out

Aren't hotel beds the best to jump on?

Natalie sure thinks so!
