SEA WORLD WITH MY LITTLE MAN

Tanner and I got to go to Sea World for one of his first grade field trips. We had such a fun time. Tanner got to ride the school bus for the first time and I followed behind in my car. We go there and it was supposed to be a completely educational field trip but we ended up seeing some shows and going on Wild Arctic. I can't remember that last time I did that since I always sit outside with a baby while everyone else goes. It was a blast to be on a ride again and watching Tanner's reaction was even more fun. The weather was great, the animals were amazing and the only draw-back to the day was the unexpected gift I got from the sea gulls. Luckily it was given to me on my back and not my mouth like my Aunt Karen. It was so fun to have some one on one time with Tanner. With 5 it gets harder to have that time so today was extra special to me. It was fun to see him interact with his friends and still have him want to be cuddly with me. I know I only have a few years of this so I am going to milk the moments while I have them. It was a picture perfect day....Literally if you will see below. There is nothing better than Sea World on a sunny day.

The Beluga Whales

I was the super chaperone for Tanner and his friend.

The dolphin show was amazing as usual

The boys wouldn't go into the polar bear caves because you can hear the polar bears roar. It took some convincing for me to get them in there and tell them the polar bears weren't coming in with them.

That is one large and freaky looking catfish....

We all got on a scale and it took about 25 of us kids and adults to equal the weight of a manatee which is the cow of the ocean.

Those shark teeth never cease to amaze me. They have been there since I was a little girl but I am still awed by the sheer size. It makes me a little nervous to go to the beach....not that I ever go in the water!

So cool to see the seals and sea lions but they really smell. :)

It took a good 5 minutes to get Shamu to cooperate. I'm not sure what he was thinking - he was a little camera shy today. Actually, is Shamu a boy or a girl?

Here he/she is again. Again, it is amazing to see the beauty and power in one creature.

Once Tanner got his cast safely behind his back to it wouldn't get wet and he got over his fear of the bat rays he jumped right in. OK, not literally but he went in as far as he could.

I think Shamu's a girl. Didn't she have a baby? I use the same excuse for not going it the water at the beach. Fun field trip!
