RAINGUTTER RENGATA

First of all I can't believe that I am here.....I have a 9 year old scout. I remember when my brothers were in scouts and we went to all the pack meetings. Now it is my son....crazy. Plus I distinctly remember when I was a scout leader for my brother when he was 8. We had about 12 boys and they were all a bit dirty and stinky (my brother included). I remember thinking that my boys will NEVER have messy hair, dirty fingernails and smell like boy. Fast forward 9 years and he has it all but little did I know how cute he would still be regardless of the little boy smell and the messy hair. It was a proud moment when I got to go and give him his award and he pinned the mom pin on me. Then I painted his face - while he secretly hoped his completely un-artistic mom would get it right. After a lot of clapping and showing the scout sign to quiet things down it was time to move on to the rain gutter rengatta. Kaden and I spent a lot of time on this boat. We sanded, cut, painted and sprayed until it was perfect. Kaden decided on the BYU logo (yes, I was very proud!) and in this mother's opinion it was a work of art. Kaden was so excited to put that boat in the water. It did great, won a couple and lost some but overall he left a winner.
