What a fun day! It was Lexie's Pre-school Mother's Day tea. Lexie got to wear a pretty tea dress to school and the mom's were supposed to dress up too, I was so excited to go and see her in her classroom. I also have to give you some background...I was being so good that week, no sugar for 2 days (which is a total record for me). I went in knowing that I wouldn't be tempted by the little store bought cookies and watered down punch. Then I got there and the little cookies looked so pretty but not that appetizing. Then Lexie brought me over a little plate of cookies and punch and my cousin told me to try one. That was when I realized that this mother's day tea was unlike anyone I had ever been to. No sugar week? Did I really say that? No, not for me - I decided to see just how much sugar I could consume in a 15 minute period without the other mom's seeing what a pig I was. The cookies were SO good! I kept having Lexie load up her plate and share with me (you know you've done that before!). Lexie and I had a blast getting a large sugar high and then she showed me all around her classroom and even brought me a little present - a picture of herself. It was such a fun day! I even tracked down the amazing pastry chef and to my dismay she is a dumper. Oh those dumpers! They just dump things in until it looks right and then whip up these amazing desserts. While I am leveling off each scoop and checking the recipe every 10 seconds. Unfortunately I didn't get the recipe but Lexie and I had so much fun having a very yummy tea!
