Even though Kale is number six I still have my areas of paranoia. I have gone to great lengths to nurse since it didn't come easy this time. Then I read an article on childhood obesity being linked to giving babies food too soon and I got even more paranoid. I didn't ever feed my other kids until 6 months but Kaleb has been eyeing the food we are all eating for at least a month and grabbing at everything in sight. I think he is just ready to take life (and food) by storm. Who knows he may give his man child brother a run for his money in regards to size. With my food paranoia you would think that Kaleb's first food would be rice cereal, or a green or orange vegetable of some sort. Not so much. Abbi (Grandma) thought that it would be best to start him on cheesecake and really who wouldn't like cheesecake for dinner? We had a "let them eat cake" moment and Kaleb started his first foods moment out with a bang. At least it was homemade cheesecake - that makes it an obvious baby food choice right? I wondered how he would feel transitioning to rice cereal but he gobbled it right up. I really can't believe that I am here already with him. Didn't I just have him?
The guilty culprit
He licked every last crumb off the fork. Yes we didn't even start with a spoon we went big with the fork
Wondering if he should eat his bib instead of rice cereal.....
This does NOT taste like cheesecake
This is more like it!

He is so cute its ridiculous! Didnt you get a picture of him eating the cheesecake?
you DID just have him!!? he is so big!
Why not start with the best? What a cutie!
Marianne's first food was red licorice and tortilla chips fed to her by her brothers. She refused rice cereal at 6 months. But at 7 months she was ready for junk food. Sigh!
That is so funny! I love how he just can't get enough of it!! I did the same thing with Elsie, but it was chocolate frosting & she nearly took my finger off trying to get it!
I'm a cheesecake fan! Starting them younger is always better!
He is SUCH a cutie pie... and I must say, he's got GREAT taste buds... YUM!!! Who wouldn't love cheesecake, right? :)
