Hold On Tight

Kaleb was 8 lbs and 3 oz when he was born but by the time we left the hospital he was 7lbs 3 oz.  I know that may seem big to some but for me that is tiny.  Compared to my other babies he is little and even has a little head.  I think this pregnancy and birth were the most different than any other I've had.  Maybe that is a sign that he will be a perfect baby and sleep through the night before he is 3 years old.  If only.  Even with all that I can't help but marvel at his little fingers and toes.  The amazing perfection of each little finger and toe never ceases to amaze me.  Callen thinks it is hilarious that I kiss Kaleb's little feet.  He thinks it is even funnier when I tell him that I used to kiss his little feet when he was a baby.  He then wanted me to kiss his dirty 3 1/2 year old little boy feet and I opted for his cheek instead after looking for a clean spot free of buggers.  I think I may keep my feet kissing to babies for now.
One of my favorite things about babies are their perfect little feet.
Even the new little fingernails are perfect
Lexie couldn't believe how tiny his little feet were and she wanted to get some pictures
I was reading an article from General Conference the other day and it talked about a newborn baby reaching up to grab her Mother's hand as if to say if I hold on tight will you help me on my path back to Heavenly Father?   The power in those words and the power in the grip from my baby is humbling and empowering.  Humbling to know that I have been given this amazing gift that I need to take care of and empowering to know I don't need to do it alone.
