Yet again I will say that I can't believe that I am here with a 5th grader. I wondered if it would get less poignant with my second but it actually was just as big an occasion with Kaden as it was with Taylor. I see a little man speeding through life and quickly turning into a young man. Part of me wants to fast forward to see who he will become and the bigger part wants to stop time and keep him my little boy. I know I don't have very much time where he is smaller than me and fits perfectly under my chin when I hug him. I got a little teary watching how handsome he looked and yet he was still Kaden with his shy little smile. Even if he ends up a foot taller than me he will always be my little boy....even when I fit perfectly for a hug underneath his chin.
Just part of his cheering squad
What do you get a boy who is graduating...flowers? No way, we decided a
candy gram was the only way to go.
A few buddies from church
Natalie made his a special card - green of course
Kaden's teacher Mr. Vincent. We were nervous about who Kaden would get in 5th grade. There
were 2 teachers that I did NOT want him to get. Luckily we got Mr. Vincent. I learned quickly
that he was a phenomenal teacher. I think he may be the best teacher Kaden has ever
had. He challenged the kids to find "real" heroes instead of sports figures or celebrities who
don't have any substance beyond their talents. He played basketball with the kids and
really got to know them. He has definitely raised the bar as far as what I expect from teachers.
It was the best possible fit for Kaden's last year of elementary school.
I wondered as I took this picture how much it would change over the years....would Trav
get shorter with his bad back while Kaden gets taller? Or will they both grow to
exceed any expectations I have. Taller in stature and spirit is the best I can hope for.
Kaden is so good with Tanner. He is probably the one that loves to play
with Callen the most. Callen follows him around like a little groupie.
My boys. Even though they are 3 years apart they are best buddies. Tanner
thought it was pretty cool to skip some school to watch Kaden graduate
Congrats Kaden!
