The Helen Woodward Center

We had a very fun field trip the other day - we went to the Helen Woodward Center.  It was a beautiful drive through Rancho Santa Fe to get to the center and then we had a fun time learning about diferent animals.  We had a very interesting tour guide.  She must not have a lot of interaction with kids because she had no patience.  I had to explain to my kids that some people like animals better than they like people.  She was just one of those people.  She was very knowledgeable about animals but heaven forbid a 4 year old started getting squirmy because then she got very unhappy very quickly.  Other than that, we had a blast!

After the tour we went to the shelter part of the center and the kids had a blast looking at all of the different animals.  They begged and begged to bring a friend home for Molly.  Luckily I am a mean Mom and said "no way."

The kids all had a favorite pet but the goat wasn't one of them.

The X-Ray room

The large animal hospital

Tanner really liked the miniature horse

Kaden was VERY excited to find a dog with his name.  Then the kids told me we HAD to buy that dog.  They were all for it until I told them how confusing it would be.
