We have a VERY large Young Women program and it is especially full of 12-13 year old girls. Every year they do a special program inviting all the new girls who have turned 12 that year into the program. This year was the year Taylor was welcomed and honored. It started off with one of the older girls spotlighting the 12 year olds. Here are the questions they asked and my response to them.
Taylor Nicole
1. Favorite color: pink
2. Hobbies/sports: reading, hanging out with friends, drawing and playing basketball.
3. Favorite vacation: Aspen Grove, Cancun and Canada for Canada Day
4. Personality: Taylor used to be SUPER shy but now she talks to everyone and loves to make faces at people in the cars next to us. She likes to be the boss and is really good at making everyone feel included. She is very sweet and kind and loves to have a lot of people around her having fun ALL the time.
5. Favorite scripture: She loves the story of Esther
6. Best Quality: Taylor is a work horse. She is a very hard worker and sets a very high standard for herself. She is not afraid to stand up for what she believes in. She has an innate desire to choose the right and set an example for others. Plus our family thinks she is amazing!
We had a pie eating contest for the Dad's. They wanted Trav to do it but he
was really trying to be good and eat healthy.
Some of our 14 Beehive girls being recognized
She is getting to be so big and so beautiful!
Each of the older girls had a station where they talked about the Laurel project they worked on. It is kind of like the equivalent of an EagleProject for a boy. They do a project that takes a certain number of hours and help them grow and develop in one of the following ways:
Faith, Divine Nature, Individual Worth, Knowledge, Choice and Accountability, Good Works, Virtue and Integrity. It was great to see what each of the girls had done. Plus it was nice for the younger girls to see the great examples the older girls set.
