Shakespeare Queen

Taylor is in a Shakespeare class this year.  To get the kids fully immersed in the language of Shakespeare they give the kids a challenge to watch, read or go to 17 Shakespeare plays all in 2 months.  If the kids do this then they get to be recognized at a special banquet in their honor.  The kids all get dressed up in Shakespeare garb, get coronated and served Old English food by their teachers who are serving maids for the night.

All the kids got into the Shakespeare mood -  even Callen wanted to be corronated
It doesn't take much to get Tanner to act like a court jester
Taylor was coronated a Queen - of course we have always known that she was, now it is just official!
We had a full Old English meal, stew, fresh bread and salad with no tomatoes.  Apparently they used to think that tomatoes were poisonous.  Yet another reason why I was meant to be born in the 20th century when tomatoes are in wide use.
Natalie was one of the first ones to earn the title of Queen so
she got to present a presentation and even coerced my Dad into participating.
The Queen's sat on on side and the King's on the other.  It was a great night to honor all the hard work the kids did.  They are doing all of this to prepare themselves to put on a Shakespeare play 2nd semester.
