Taylor is in this great group called Skittles. They meet every Monday afternoon for 2 hours. Every 2 months they change topics. Taylor has done Speech and Debate, Public Speaking, Clue Finders and now Entrepreneurs. This time is was Entrepreneurs. They came up with an idea to sell some cookie dough and raise some money. It was a business class first so they wanted to make a profit. With this profit they wanted a pizza party....of course! They wanted to take any leftover money and donate it to Haiti. The kids were so excited for a variety of reasons. They each sold cookie dough in 1 pound increments. They figured out the totals for the ingredients they would need, went shopping at Costco to buy the supplies and had a little bit of fun in the aisles of Costco while shopping. Then they got together and made all of the cookie dough, weighed it and wrapped it up to deliver. They were amazing to watch. They finished in record time, cleaned up and did their deliveries. It was a great learning experience and showed the kids the benefit of being an entrepreneur and all the good that can come from having an idea and moving forward with it. Considering her genes this may just come naturally to her. I think the hardest thing about the whole experience was not eating the cookie dough as we were making it....luckily I bought a few pounds so we could make up for that later~
Taylor sold 19 pounds of cookie dough and had a GREAT sales pitch. The subject of the e-mail she sent out was:

Go Taylor. Both of my older kids have had to do a similar project. It is such good experience:)
Can I buy some? Do you ship? :)
Wow! It must be in her genes! I don't think I was doing anything this productive at her age. (Thanks, by the way, for making me crave cookie dough!)
A "chip" off the old block, I'd say!
Congrats to Taylor!!!
