The Spirit of Christ

I saw this video and couldn't help tearing up and wishing I could start December over.  Part of me wishes we could celebrate the Santa part of Christmas in January and celebrate the Christ part of Christmas in December.  It seems like I am always too busy to do the things that I REALLY want to do.  Next year I vow to be better.  I want to do all of the following:

*Get a manger and hay and have the kids add a piece of hay in the manger each time they do a service.  Then at the end of the month the manger should be full and ready for baby Jesus.

*Read a different Christmas story every night

*Do the 12 days of Christmas for another family

*Finish my shopping before December 12th and get my Christmas cards out by mid-December

*Sing in a Christmas choir of some sort

*Read about the Savior and make every day a CHRISTmas day

In all reality I just want to do 3 out of the above list and make each year better than the one before.  I do have 3 days left to make the most of this Christmas season and help my kids REALLY get the true meaning of christmas.

This is one of my favorite Christmas books that we love to read around Christmas time that helps us understand the bigger picture of Christmas:

I love your Christmas ideas! We used to do the straw for the manger when I was a child (I LOVED it!). My mom had to find new hay for every year though because she would inevitably find us chewing on baby Jesus' hay like cowboys.
