Ratatouille

 http://www.canaltcm.com/myfiles/ap/ratatouille-foto2.jpg
I opened my car to run an errand and screamed like a little girl.  There was a rather large rat sitting on the driver's seat.  He ran as fast as he could and hid under the front console of the car probably more scared of my high-pitched screaming than I was of him.  After breathing in a paper bag (Ok, not really but it makes it more dramatic) I went and got Travis and my Dad who were in the house.  They came out and helped me search the car.  That rat was NOT leaving the nice little nest he made int he glove box.  We found the evidence when we opened the glove box and found my registration and insurance chewed to bits.  Plus a lot of lovely little gifts of the #2 variety.  Needless to say I refused to drive my car until the rat was found.  We have 2 traps out, one in the car and one under the car.  There is even peanut butter on the trap to entice our little friend to come and make the trap his "eternal home".  Unfortunately our rat friend is smart and he apparently bypasses those traps.  It has been 4 days and no rat.  I had to drive my car to church yesterday and I kept repeating the mantra "he is a nice ratatouille rat" as I drove with my ankles highly exposed in high heels.  That was the only way I could drive to church without crawling out of my skin.  Hopefully we catch our little friend soon or he could start cooking up some gourmet meals in the garage with the leftover food left in the car and make himself useful.

OK Rachel, you and Rebecca really have some pest problems. Between the snakes and the rats I'll keep my ants!!!

I'll keep my snakes. In Daniel's old car, it really started to stink. I was cleaning it out and found that a family of rats was living behind the glove box. There was a full nest with dead babies. We sold the car!!

That's just funny. We had a mouse in our garage and I caught it in one of those sticky traps and then I didn't know what to do with it. It really was sad...watching it struggle. I hope you catch it soon!

Too fuuny! But it wouldn't be funny if it happened to me. We've had rats in the yard before but luckily no rats in the car.

Ewww! You are a brave woman to drive your car to church! Or...maybe he moved away (was scared of your reaction to him and decided to find a new home!)
