HAPPY BIRTHDAY CALLEN!

I really can't believe that 2 years have passed since he was born. Granted the first few month of his life were a sleep deprived pain filled blur but ever since then he has been the best baby ever. He is such a happy little guy and loves to be in the mix of all the chaos in our house. He is so mellow and can easily entertain himself for hours. He We started his special day off with a special birthday breakfast and went non- stop for the rest of the day. I think he was a little confused every time we said happy birthday although he would chime in and start singing the happy birthday song to himself whenever we would say it. Now we just have to work on him holding up his 2 fingers when we ask how old he is. Baby Steps - literally. Since is is his special day, here are some of my favorite things about Callen:

*I love his infectious smile

*I love how people think he is 3 even though he is only 2 because he is so huge

*Whenever anyone is crying or in trouble he goes right over and comforts them

*I love how people assume he is the next Einstein because of his XXL brain and head circumference

*I love how he has to carry a minimum of 6 cars around with him at all times. The best is when he will spend 5 minutes in one spot just trying to figure out how to pick up all the cars so he can carry them where ever he goes.

*I love how one of his first words was Einstein because he loves watching Baby Einstein. See, he IS a genius!

*I love how he says "oh yeah" just like Lightening McQueen

*I love how he laughs at the littlest things

*I love how he runs to me yelling "Mommy" every time I pick him up from Kids Care at the gym even though we are there 6 days a week whether it has been 20 minutes or an hour. No one is EVER that excited to see me except Callen

*I love how every time we do his hair (OK, every Sunday) he immediately messes it up again and laughs

*I love how he loves to read his favorite books and has no qualms about throwing a book down as I hand it to him if he doesn't want to read it.

*I love how he likes going to the gym as much as I do

*I love how he has carry his monkey (and his cars) around with him at all times

*I love how he always wants to be by me whether I am doing laundry, showering, on the computer, eating or cleaning he is my shadow.

*I love how he will sit there and kiss his monkey over and over again and make faces at me when I try to get him to give me a kiss. I usually end up faking a cry or telling him to watch Mom kiss monkey (who is covered in boogers - there is no limit to what I will do for a kiss) until he thinks it must be fun to kiss Mom is monkey is

doing it and he caves

*I love how he says the kids names giving them each a little nickname - Tay, Taden, Tanneh, Yexie and for some reason he always throws Nick (cousin) in for good measure

*I love how is is obsessed with all things Cars.

Most of all I love that he is part of our family and brings us laughter and joy every day of his life. I can only imagine what he will be like as he grows up. It will never be dull!
