Lexie is 5 today! I really can't believe it has been 5 years since she came into my life. Last night she fell asleep on my lap and she curled her hand around my finger - just like she used to do as a baby and I marvelled at how much she has grown. She informed me today that she is not my baby girl anymore and I of course explained that she will ALWAYS be my baby girl even if she is 5, 25 or 55. She also asked me if I noticed that she grew taller AND her feet grew. Of course I noticed - I felt it deeply that while she may only be growing slowly in her mind in mine her life seems on fast forward. I just need days like today when I can hit the stop button and remember all of the reasons we love her.
I love her big blue eyes
I love how she wants to be with me (Mom) all the time and cries when I leave
I love how she takes charge in each and every situation
I love that she thanks me for washing her princess underwear
I love that she loves to snuggle and still wants me to pick her up
I love her infectious giggle
I really love it when she gets going with her giggle. It makes us all laugh
I love her power to communicate. She should be a lawyer. She is very good at arguing her point.
I love how excited she gets when she does something well
I love how creative she is
I love all the little pictures she draws for me and puts on my desk, my bed or under my door.
I love how she begs to sit next to Callen every time we get in the car.
I love how she makes a new friend every where we go.
I love watching her try to be like her big sister and I really love it when her sister notices that and takes her under he rwing
I love how she sings and mouths the words even if she doesn't know them.
I love how she helps Callen turn cartoons on in the morning and even gets him a snack if he's hungry.
I love the strength and strong will in her personality and I marvel and wonder about what she will do with all of the talents that she has.
HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY LEXIE! You are truly one of a kind
