GIRLS WEEK

A few days after we moved her 2 plus years ago Taylor was able to make friends right away because they had something called "girls week" going on. An awesome lady in our ward sets up a week of fun for the girls Taylor's age. Each mom takes a day or 2 and they do different activities each day. We try to keep the prices to a few dollars each day. This was Taylor's 3rd year of girls week and it just keeps getting better and better. This year it started with beach day on Monday. Then Tuesday it was American Girl Spa Day. The girls brought their dolls and had a beauty parlor for the dolls and themselves. Plus they had a Slurpee run at the end. Taylor came home with a fabulous hairstyle and a sugar high. Wednesday they went to the free movies at the movie theatre, lunch at Islands and swimming. Thursday they went ice skating and came to our house for dinner, book club, movie and a craft. Friday they went to Mission Bay for a birthday party. It was a whirlwind week and had my boys wishing they could be girls for just one week. We have a great group of 12 girls and they have fun no mater what they do. So far they get along great and are all really supportive of each other. We will see what tweenage and teenage years bring but all the Mom's hope that if we keep them doing these things together

they will always stay close.

Taylor hosted this book for book club this month. We love Fablehaven in our house. I have read all 4, Taylor and Kaden are making their way through them as we speak. They are great reads and really have good messages. I was even scared as I read it at night and had to read ahead to make sure the kids ended up OK in the end. Reminder - I am a 33 year old mother of 5 and yes a children's book scared me. For book club we played character Pictionary, had a group Jeopardy game and had to guess the characters. It was really fun and the girls did great. They even knew some of the questions that I couldn't remember. If you haven't read the book - Read it. You won't be disappointed.Posted by Picasa

For our craft we made flower clips with headbands. The girls did a great job gluing, cutting and being creative. It was fun to see all the flowers all over the counters and in the girls hair. It was even more fun to come to church a few days later
and see a lot of the girls with cute flowers in their hair.
It ended up being a late night but so worth it!
