BEACH DAY

As much as I love the beach it is still an ordeal to get everything all packed up to go. It is so nice to have a stopping ground every once in a while where we can just get up and go for a walk on the beach. No preparation needed! I'm always worried that one of the kids will fall and bash themselves but so far so no major accidents. The kids love looking at the tide pools and finding all sorts of fun creatures. It seems like every creature they find either has pincher's or scary looking teeth. It makes me realize what a grown-up I have become. I still remember the days when I thought it was a novelty to search through the sand for the elusive sand crabs and search through the tide pools for crabs and not be afraid of what I would find. Now all I think of are claws, sand and teeth. I love to watch the kids shriek with joy when they find something - regardless what it is. It could be a shard of a shell or a madly wriggling sand crab. The excitement they show is infectious and I find myself contemplating digging in the sand and then remember that I am now the ripe old age of 33 and content myself with watching the kids and wriggling my toes in the sand.
The adventurers
They are joined at the hip - until they get into a fight...
Callen was fascinated by the rising tide
I know it is just a matter of minutes before he will be as tall as his dad and Trav won't have to bend over anymore. Does anyone know a way to stop time?
It is amazing how many things the kids find in tide pools
One of the many scary creatures we saw today
This day was a perfect 10!
I just have to add that the iphone is amazing - I took all the pictures and videos with my phone and it was at sunset when it is really hard to see the pictures you take. Amazing.
