GIRLS WEEKEND

It was that time again - time for our annual girls weekend.  I get together with some friends from Murrieta.  Only 2 still live in Murrieta, 2 are in Carlsbad and I am in San Diego but we still want to stay close.  Every year we do a girls weekend.   Trying to coordinate 36 straight hours where we can get together is so tricky that I know that huge multi-million dollar business deals were done in less time and with less e-mail/phone calls back and forth.  Yet when we get together it is all worth it. We stay at Aprils...we call her Aprah simply because everything she does is gold.  She is super talented and oh so wise.  We arrived to a delicious gluten free meal because one of the girls was just diagnosed with Celiac disease and can't eat gluten.  The food was great!  Then Aprah had us do an art project.  At first we all resisted a bit and a few of us thought we would rather eat something off of Survivor (OK, that was me - spontaneous creativity is scary!) but as we got chatting it was fun!  We talked, painted and ate chocolate.  It couldn't get much better.  Then we stayed up talking until 2am.  Our best laid plans for a good run in the morning turned into sleeping in until 10am.  It felt great!  We planned to spend the day shopping but instead spent most of the day talking and just relaxing.  We ended the weekend with dinner at Cheesecake factory and some more great conversation.  It was such a great weekend and so fun to see my friends.  There is nothing like a good girlfriend!   A big THANKS  to all the husbands and kids that cheerfully let us do this!
